Join long-time yoga teacher Kellie Dearman for a day of deeply relaxing breathing, meditation and simple movement practices. Kellie has specialized in Trauma Sensitive Yoga for 7 years and has worked one-on-one and in small groups with many Veterans and first responders. She, along with teaching partner Brendon Abram, have also trained over 100 teachers and clinicians how to adapt their practices for trauma.
Teaching and discussions will include:
* understanding how anxiety affects the whole of our being
* what is trauma
* what is Post Traumatic Stress
* an in-depth look at PTS and it's symptoms
* why PTS creates disconnection with self, friends and family
* how you can take charge of the stress that is controlling your life
Practices will include:
* a variety of breathing practices to calm mind and body, find the one that works best for you
* simple movement practices to help reconnect mind and body
* super gentle hatha yoga (can be done on a chair)
* yin yoga, an extremely relaxing, gentle practice that works on the deeper layers of the body
* Yoga Nidra, an all-in-one guided meditation practice that helps reintegrate mind and spirit
